Rated 0.5/5 Stars •  Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Super low-budget, and that's ok, but this is a "Zombie Apoc Education" movie that teaches you Bad Advice. In a zombie apocalypse, you Never use heavy blunt weapons any shorter than 3 feet (sledgehammer is bad, spear is good), you take off Any clothes with infected blood and seal them up and throw them out (do not burn), and you Always check for bites Everywhere on a fellow "survivors" body, even if it's between the cracks. These things are essential, but never says Any of these things. This movie will teach you the wrong stuff, with some flashes of inspiration here and there, but it just does Not work. If you need advice such as "buy food and water before an outbreak because you have like an hour and you'll die without food and water," then you should probably get a housekeeper to prevent you from taking Mickey Rooney's Crazy Pills and defecating in the chimney. Is it a bad film? It's ok, I suppose, but not a shelfer. It does have 1 Excellent piece of information, and that is: "only way to survive zombie apocalypse is to Kill All the Zombies." This is Precisely correct. Dead Rising was a series that showed people would abuse the virus for wealth and power, Resident Evil (games mostly, but both movies and games) bottled up the virus and sold it to black-market buyers, and All zombie movies show that all the zombies need to die, so this is great advice. Kill them early, kill them quickly, kill them All, it is the Only way, and why my rating is 2.5 stars rather than less. However the filming was a little mixed which detracted from the movie and their final plan seemed a bit far fetched in the circumstances :) Rated 2/5 Stars •  Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member The zombie genre is often better served by low budget, independent efforts. Big budget blockbusters often end up as just as vehicles for big names with the usual clichés attached. Here, some of that low end, realistic grittiness gives this film it's desired tension and claustrophobia, occasional curious plot details and poor sound quality notwithstanding. So it's a shame that having indulged the film's limitations it then becomes frankly ludicrous. I won't give anything away by saying the scene in the shop is so absurd as to be beyond belief. I can only surmise the writer had only an imaginary idea of his destination and hoped we would be taken in by it. The only good thing after that being the astonishing haste with which the whole thing is wound up. The main protagonist got it right at the start. In a time of crisis, stay where you are.
