The Chinese title translates as "Exorcist Cop", a better description of the movie. A hillbilly cop (by HK standards) is called into the city to fight a wave of crimes committed by walking corpses. He's partnered with a pair of dubious younger guys, who chase after his cute twentysomething daughter. Hilarity ensues-- I wish. The action scenes and sorcery showdowns are not bad, but way too much time is spent on comic relief, and of course the cute girl ends up with the most obnoxious and chauvinistic guy. It's shot in the typical early '90s Hong Kong style, probably one of those 3-week shooting schedules with the cast & crew sleeping in their cars. So, it's fast-paced to the point that sometimes it doesn't make a lick of sense, but it doesn't matter because hey, did somebody just shoot lasers out of their eyes? Animals were harmed in the making of this film-- there is some wirework done by one very unhappy cat.
