Critics Consensus

Equal parts plot holes and unintentional laughs, Replicas is a ponderously lame sci-fi outing that isn't even bad enough to be so bad it's good.

Chris Stuckmann ChrisStuckmann.com Along with the messy script is some absolutely horrendous CGI. Nick G. There is probably something better to watch. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/13/21 Full Review Audience Member I don't get the bad reviews. I was completely entertained. And if you need some sort of socially redeeming element to make it worth your time, with AI tech winding up, we're getting perilously close to the world described in this film, which causes any number of questions to come to mind. I thought the script, acting, and CGI were all perfectly adequate, if anything, it might have run a little long. I don't know what people want, maybe they want more guns, sex, drugs, and bad language, of which there was hardly any here, to call it entertainment. Maybe lacking these ubiquitous elements, people can't even recognize a decent film anymore. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/08/24 Full Review Audience Member dis movie tuff as hell Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/10/24 Full Review Jolin S I must be crazy. I absolutely love sci-fi and I really enjoyed this one. If anyone asked me should I watch it I would definitely say yes. I don’t understand why certain individuals gave this movie bad reviews. As I stated in this review I totally recommend watching it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/16/24 Full Review David S Didn't get beyond the 25 minute mark. Implausible, poor script and too much given away too soon. Can't comment on the performances of the actors, as we didn't hang around to see any development- but it wasn't promising when you don't like any of the characters. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/24/24 Full Review faye m The idea for this film was there, but it was as reinforced as a cardboard castle on a particularly rainy day. What I mean by that is that the CGI was god-awful, the scientific terminology was thrown in for good measure, and I don't think I've seen worse acting before in my life. The plot is messy and the ending makes no sense at all - it was simply a forced happy ending. It would have made more sense to leave things as they were, to fit with the already screwy plotline. Better give this film a miss if you want to keep an hour or two of your life unwasted. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/17/24 Full Review Read all reviews
