What to Know

Critics Consensus

Equal parts plot holes and unintentional laughs, Replicas is a ponderously lame sci-fi outing that isn't even bad enough to be so bad it's good.

Chris Stuckmann ChrisStuckmann.com Along with the messy script is some absolutely horrendous CGI. Rated: D May 11, 2020 Full Review Tim Cogshell FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) This is really terrible. Sep 13, 2019 Full Review Roxana Hadadi Pajiba Does the Keanu Reeves vehicle Replicas do anything new or different in the sci-fi genre, or offer up any impressive action sequences, or any unique CGI? No, no, and no. Feb 7, 2019 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies Even though I did find it strangely entertaining, it’s just too scattered and a little too goofy to get behind it. Nick G. There is probably something better to watch. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/13/21 Full Review Jolin S I must be crazy. I absolutely love sci-fi and I really enjoyed this one. If anyone asked me should I watch it I would definitely say yes. I don’t understand why certain individuals gave this movie bad reviews. As I stated in this review I totally recommend watching it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/16/24 Full Review David S Didn't get beyond the 25 minute mark. Implausible, poor script and too much given away too soon. Can't comment on the performances of the actors, as we didn't hang around to see any development- but it wasn't promising when you don't like any of the characters. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/24/24 Full Review faye m The idea for this film was there, but it was as reinforced as a cardboard castle on a particularly rainy day. What I mean by that is that the CGI was god-awful, the scientific terminology was thrown in for good measure, and I don't think I've seen worse acting before in my life. The plot is messy and the ending makes no sense at all - it was simply a forced happy ending. It would have made more sense to leave things as they were, to fit with the already screwy plotline. Better give this film a miss if you want to keep an hour or two of your life unwasted. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/17/24 Full Review Dinos K Bad acting, bad plot, horrible CGI. Why, Neo???? WHY????????? Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/19/24 Full Review ItsHobogoblin I heard about the state of this movie a few years back and decided to give it a watch. I had to get my brother to watch this with me and it was worth it. The script and acting of this movie is shallow and soulless but damn was it not hilarious to watch. The director of this movie must of had some serious dirt of Keanu to get him to act in this diasterclass of a movie. It feels like a whole season of a terrible tv show packed into one.
