Daniel Gorman In Review Online All would be forgiven if the action was top notch, but instead it’s merely serviceable. ... A case of a young director calling their shot, or pure hubris? Possibly a bit of both. Nov 1, 2022 Full Review Emilie Black Cinema Crazed This is a fun one and should be checked out by action film fans. Rated: 4/5 Oct 4, 2022 Full Review Paul Mount Starburst Unashamedly and proudly a throwback to the era of straight-to-DVD action thrillers, Section 8 really has nothing new to say and is just a slick, modern spin on every routine action movie cliché imaginable. Rated: 3/5 Sep 29, 2022 Full Review Joel Copling Spectrum Culture It almost becomes a running joke that the “elite squad” of the title consists of morons who have no idea what they are doing. Sep 28, 2022 Full Review Martin Carr We Got This Covered That being said, there is nothing really wrong with Section Eight, apart from a lack of ambition. This film remains so much in its own lane that there is no effort involved for audiences. Rated: 3/5 Sep 26, 2022 Full Review Erik Childress Movie Madness Podcast When will every ex-military operative get the memo that the shadow company recruiting you to help pay the bills or get some payback is not what you hoped it would be and you will end up having to fight against? luke b Very good premise of a film started okay but the execution was lacking in several areas, jumped around too much, was no actual plot, just feels like a college kid came up with some ideas and could figure out how to link them, shooting scenes were dreadful making pistols sound like smgs, people who are supposed to be trained killers can't shoot a person running in a straight line, save yourself some time and go watch something else. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/25 Full Review Mike B There’s a few issues with director errors, character direction and plot holes. Fight scenes were good and enjoyable. Scott Adkin’s doesn’t get much screen time but definitely steals the spotlight. Mickey rouke I was expecting more but was underused. Overall it’s worth a watch, would give a higher rating, but there’s a few too many errors. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/23/24 Full Review Dave V Some good twists and turns. Suspenseful and some good action. I liked the movie a lot. Once again the critics were wrong. If you want action aand twist and turns in the plot it is definitely a good watch. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/18/24 Full Review Laurie S Jake was supposed to be Special Force yet the pussy way he fought would make Jack Reacher ashamed to be associated with this numbskull. The film was absolutely dire. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/04/24 Full Review Erik J Section 8 is a Hulu original movie that fails to deliver on any level. Despite promising a thrilling action-packed ride, the movie falls flat due to its terrible plot, lackluster acting, and amateurish screenplay. The movie attempts to move the plot forward at breakneck speed, but it feels rushed and disjointed, leaving the audience feeling confused and unsatisfied. The actors seem to be phoning it in, delivering stilted and wooden performances that do nothing to add to the movie's appeal. The biggest issue with Section 8 is its poorly written screenplay. The dialogue feels repetitive and uninspired, and the plot is filled with cliches and predictable twists. It's clear that the writers were trying to create a fast-paced action movie, but they failed to do so in a way that was engaging or enjoyable. Overall, I would not recommend watching Section 8. It's a forgettable movie that fails to deliver on its promises, and it's not worth the time or effort to watch. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/17/23 Full Review ed b It is an OK film to pass time but very predictable and poor acting. Some good play fight scenes.
