Elvis D 1d Aunque se dista bastante de sus predecesoras, esta película termina ofreciendo algo interesante que al menos buscaba darle un nuevo inicio a esta saga tras el decepcionante final de la tercera película. Sus fallas son menores y el único punto en contra que tiene es formar parte de esta saga porque funciona mejor como una película individual. Tiene momentos destacables como su alegoría sobre el feminismo por medio del culto de Lilith, la memorable actuación de Neith Hunter, la peculiaridad de Clint Howard, la partitura de Richard Band, el espectacular diseño de los insectos gigantes y los alucinantes efectos especiales de Screaming Mad George. Silent Night, Deadly Night 4: Initiation propuso algo arriesgado que hizo que no pudiera posicionarse como una de las mejores de la saga, pero que al menos intento ser un nuevo comienzo para esta saga. Mi calificación final para esta película es un 7/10. It is better than Better Watch Out, thankfully. It’s just like how Halloween III: Season of the Witch is like to the Halloween franchise, yet does have its pros yet the cons outweigh the movie. Do I recommend it? I'd say take it for what it's worth and check it out for yourself. I will be giving Initiation three and a half crime scene from atop of the building out of ten. 3.5/10. That is something that I forget to mention that that’s a creative choice for them and it is when that lady died of spontaneous human combustion and fell from the top of the building, the top half as the white lines and the bottom half is where the ground is charred from when the woman’s legs were on fire. Ignoring the established lore entirely for a bizarre cult and body-horror plot involving witches and bugs, the film in no way feels like it's in the world of the Silent Night, Deadly Night series, and barely even registers as a Christmas horror movie beyond its Christmas Eve setting. As suas investigações a acaba levando a culto de bruxas a Lilith. Neste ponto, não temos mais os serial killers e os filmes da franquia deixam de ser slasher movies para abarcarem outros subgêneros do terror. Como aqui, onde temos bruxaria, cultos e body horror. É nítido que esse filme não tem nada a ver com a franquia. Parece ser mais uma ideia do diretor Brian Yuzna que ofereceu para a franquia e fez as adaptações para se passar no Natal. Mas tirando umas 2 ou 3 cenas onde aparecem presentes e árvores de Natal, não tem nada a ver. Aqui houve um pouco mais de orçamento, em relação aos três primeiros filmes, principalmente nos efeitos visuais e maquiagem, já que Yuzna usa muito de body horror nos seus filmes. Analisando o filme como um filme de terror sem ligação com a franquia, o filme falha em não criar toda um ambientação que envolve filmes de bruxaria ou culto.
