This film, even being an older age film, captures a story that is horrible, tragic, beautiful, happy and sad at the same time. It makes one think of what is just and what is right and wrong. The talented and well known Didier Haudepain as one of the leads, shows his ability as an incredible talented strong actor, in a role that is all but easy. Even the theme may be for some harder, it is a film that stays with you long after you have watched.

It's Interesting how a film from the 1960's can make such a strong statement about prohibited love between two young men; specially within the church. But again It's all about how love is stopped by a hypocrite society that it has been years to date.
great French lgbt film.

What a beautiful piece of lost art. The young boy and the Teenage boy have a very good chemistry. They're love is pure and sweet. I wish the filmmakers didn't cut their moment on the barn. They should've made them kiss on that barn scene and they should've ended it in a happier ending where the two boys didn't get caught until the end of the school year or they could've make them run away from school to lived happily ever after together. We need more movies like this in the modern age. movies about a young boy and an older boy in a boarding school having a secret relationship but it must end in a happy ending where they actually end up together.

Gut-wrenching, terribly real, miserably tragic. One of the best films I've seen in a long time.
