It's rare that I laugh at a feature comedy these days (most are completely laugh-free and comprehensively awful), so that extra half-star is for the handful of outright laughs that it elicited... but overall the movie's paper thin plot and characters keeps it from even reaching mediocrity.

Absolutely awful, firstly gambling doesn’t solve a financial problem. Doing it illegally is just stupid. it was also unnecessarily grotesque, it was greedy, it was completely and utterly stupid. I actually couldn’t finish it. Maybe only made it 1/2 way through. I very rarely stop watching a film - but I just couldn’t push thru this one. Really mindless.
