Audience Member Mickey Rooney really cuts loose in this stunningly strange and twisted early 70's psycho horror oddity--Highly successful acting exercise!! Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Really bizarre film. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member mickey's finest moment Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member A must-see for Rooney's phenomenal performance of an utterly mad man who believes he's making a great film but is really holed up in an old film lot building with a young performer as a captive. Layered over the film and paralleled in the plot is the tragic story of Cyrano de Bergerac who dies unloved by his beloved Roxanne. Some good camera work; an interesting set; bumpy sound (you want to hear everything Mickey Rooney says but you can't) and a miss-the-mark performance by the female captive who failed to demonstrate that she is trying different approaches to escape: fear, acquiescence, flight, pretended love, hate, and lastly--[no, that would spoil it]. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member I do not advide watchingh this movie stoned or under the influence of any other drugs. And the way this movie looks, there were a lot of crew members on drugs, predominently the writer-director and editor. Random, and painfully long, dream sequences are thrown in throughout the film, whick must surely rank amongst those memorable sequences in Glen Or Glenda. Fast and slow motion are used so obviously and pointlessly, that, at least in the case of the slow motion, makes you wonder if the director felt he had to slow the film down in order to make it to the hour and a half mark. Rooney hams it up for this role, but still manages to look like a professional next to his co-star Luana Anders. After listening to her whiny voice for a while, you almost want Rooney to kill her off. For all the above reasons, and for the worst production Cyrano De Bergerac ever produced, I proudly induct this film as the lastest member of the Crap-tacular Movie Club. Congratulations and rot in hell. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Mickey Rooney gives a way over the top performance, but at least he does try. It's not a very interesting film, I couldn't seem to develop an interest in the story. Cheesy production. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
