Simon T Oh dear. This well-intentioned but horribly misconceived 50th anniversary concert version of Mike Oldfield's famous album is all over the place, and - at the last minute - even waterlogged too, as the elements flood the Festival Hall and threaten cancellation. No-one seems to be in charge and the performance is eventually hijacked by an Australian circus act who spend the hour throwing themselves around or climbing over themselves for no apparent reason. The whole thing is pretty toe-curling, and Oldfield himself wisely stayed away. Personally, I prefer Tubular Bells 2, so maybe I'm biased. The rest is boring, long narration about nothing and the show itself is incredibly poor. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Christopher Llewellyn Reed Film Festival Today It’s hardly an innovative or overly insightful documentary, but it does a fine job showcasing the efforts of all. Art, when open to constant interpretation, can indeed be timeless. Rated: 3/4 Nov 18, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews
