Bruce Kirkland Toronto Sun The sequel is about as far from the original source as you can get while still using the title, The Woman in Black. It is just as far away from being interesting. Rated: 2/5 Jan 9, 2015 Full Review Marc Savlov Austin Chronicle What's missing from The Woman in Black 2, and what it needs most and has least of all, is suspense. Rated: 1.5/5 Jan 9, 2015 Full Review Ben Sachs Chicago Reader Director Tom Harper conveys this theme through dark, moldy-looking mise-en-scene and the uniformly sullen performances he elicits from the cast; you're more likely to find this depressing than scary. Jan 9, 2015 Full Review Joey Keogh Wicked Horror The Woman In Black 2: Angel Of Death is a profoundly frightening, relentlessly spooky film that wears how old-fashioned and traditional it is as a badge of honour. Rated: 8/10 Sep 25, 2019 Full Review Nicholas Bell IONCINEMA.com You might be startled once or twice while watching Angel of Death, but the thrills are cheap tricks. Rated: 1/5 Sep 19, 2019 Full Review Alexa Dalby Dog and Wolf Though well acted and shot, and set in an interesting period, the story itself seems slight and predictable - or even unbelievable. Erik Z The film relies on cheap jump scares and lacks the eerie atmosphere that made the first instalment somewhat enjoyable, resulting in a bland and forgettable horror experience. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/24/23 Full Review Jack O When I'm thinking about saying in this review is not to be confused with the Daniel Radcliffe version when the other film is called Angel of Death but then I've just recently realized that the title for this is The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death. I actually thought this is a different version but no, it's just a sequel. In this one, the two teachers decided to put the children to the isolated house known as Eel Marsh House away from the war but it seemed that the house is haunted and this is where the angel of death comes in. When it comes the horror movies, this is one you can watch in the dark, that is of course if you liked it, I just found it to be all right. I wouldn't say it's that good but holy hell, it's scary. I had the feeling that it's not well praised. I haven't seen the first film with Daniel Radcliffe in it. Either will you avoid it or see it, just don't get confused by it's title whilst you in the store. For me, it's all right but I had a good scare. Looks like many of the recent horror films are not going to be well received by many people at the time. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/22/23 Full Review Benjamin H The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death has strong performances, great visuals and some creepy moments, but its over-reliance on jumpscares, thinly written plot and witless characters still make for a mediocre experience. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/13/22 Full Review la l Not a great movie but it's fine… lost interest towards the end and the women in black is barley in it. But it's fine I guess. Definitely will never watch it again. Acting was fine Setting was cool A few cool scenes Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Liam D While it doesn't the same as the original and Has a nice atmosphere score by Marco Beltrami (Flight of the Phoenix, The Watcher) it has some lame scares and glacial pacing Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/23/22 Full Review kevin c A group of displaced kids from the war are brought to a group home which was previously haunted many years before and their presence awakens a spirit. Acting is good in this as is the atmosphere, but really nothing that we haven't seen a thousand times before. Good but needless sequel. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
