Audience Member Also titled "Every Home Should Have One" Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Marty Feldman became a huge comedy star in the UK with his own BBC show and one coming up on ITV, in the meantime, he got an offer to do a film for producer Ned Sherrin (Up Pompeii) and British Lion, which Marty wrote with Barry Took and Denis Norden. It's a satire on the advertising culture in the UK, and it still feels relevent now. Advertising executive Teddy Brown (Marty) works under Nat Kaplan (Shelley Berman), and it falls to Teddy to think of a new way to make a brand of frozen porridge sexy, but he soon finds trouble at home when his priggish wife Liz (Judy Cornwell) has gone in with a group of "clean up" television" campaign led by Leonard Crape (Ellis Dale) and the Reverend Geoffrey Mellish (Dinsdale Landen), and Teddy becomes worried about his son Richard (Garry Miller) picking up rude phrases. Matters are further complicated when their Swedish au pair Inga Giltenburg (Julie Ege) who inspires Teddy more when it comes to his advertising campaign, then the Reverend Mellish seems to be stealing Liz away from Teddy. It manages to showcase Marty as an actor, while at the same time managing to have him doing his silent slapstick comedy, (especially with a good finale), it also has cameos from Dave Dee, Penelope Keith and Frances de la Tour, and with some brilliant titles and animated adverts and fantasies by Richard Williams, who used to do adverts for real.
