D D I watched this so many times as teen. Fun movie with a great soundtrack "Fastway"; I couldn't wait to get to the record shop in the mall and buy the cassette. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/31/23 Full Review Gary B I originally saw it in the theater back in 1986. Then watched it just now on Comet channel. To me it still holds up. Ya, it's the geek nerd getting picked on scenario and trying to get revenge. But it takes a turn and things change to make it interesting to me. Not going to spoil it but growing up a metal head i have a soft spot for this movie. My wife had never seen it and she was entertained by it. Great soundtrack and the vinyl record has been released on fire red vinyl. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Over 35 years old and heck of a lot of fun Director Charles Martin Smith makes a death metal/Halloween flick starring Marc Price, Tony Fields, and Ozzy Osbourne to boot A bullied metal head Ragman is hoping to boost his career as a musician After finding an old record thanks to his friend Nuke a radio DJ he plays it backwards in an effort to get inspired But he unwittingly summons the spirit of his idol Sammi Curr who recently died of a hotel fire At first Ragman gets revenge on the bullies building up his confidence yet Sammi starts to make plans of his own, even coming into the real world Now Ragman has to stop him from wreaking death and destruction This movie has its metal aesthetic on its sleeves, knows its demographic, moves by fast, and has a pretty cool villain Some of the visual effects are dated and a couple subplots get abandoned entirely but the soundtrack is really slick and there's some freaky practical effects along with some bloody scenes Fields is devilishly fun as this villain, Price plays a good dismayed worshipper of this artist's music, the feel of it is very sweet yet genial, and has a love for 80's music Hard rock metal, fandom, and satanism couldn't have a better match for this flick Loads of fun to watch and laugh at Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/25/23 Full Review Daniel T Great Metal horror cult classic which intertwined the current PRMC music scare in the 80s with the plot. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/15/22 Full Review Audience Member Gene Simmons and Ozzy Osborne deliver tricks and treats Teenage metal head Marc Price as Eddie has been bullied his whole life His classmate Leslie seems to be the only positive light on the food chain His icon is vulgar and infamous rockstar the late Tony Fields' Sammi Curr who since the start of his career was hounded by parents and conservative groups for his sexually suggestive and satanic lyrics His concert at Eddie's school gets canceled plus Sammie meets an untimely demise during a hotel fire Then Eddie is suddenly haunted by Sammi's ghost after playing his record backwards acting as an incantation Sammi has been using help from the power of Satan to make his comeback and even though Eddie is happy to see his idol back from the grave this ghost is out to wreak havoc and chaos Now it's up to Eddie and Leslie to stop his spiritual vengeance This movie has its metal aesthetic on its sleeves, knows its demographic, moves by fast, and has a pretty cool villain Some of the visual effects are dated and a couple subplots get abandoned entirely but the soundtrack is really slick and there's some freaky practical effects along with some bloody scenes Fields is devilishly fun as this villain, Price plays a good dismayed worshipper of this artist's music, the feel of it is very sweet yet genial, and has a love for 80's music Hard rock metal, fandom, and satanism couldn't have a better match for this flick Loads of fun to watch and laugh at Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review robert p A great horror movie not for the easily scared person!!!!
