J.R. Southall Starburst The self-taught Mundy manages to invoke both the look and sound (and some of the feel) of Kubrick's best work, and simply because he's aiming for the stars, that he falls short doesn't make It Lives any less worthy of investigation. Audience Member I hoped and hoped it would get better because nothing could be so bad. It did not get better. I feel so bad for the crew involved in this pos film. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/20 Full Review Audience Member If only this movie had a script. Like say Roy opens the airtight door to discover a ladder to the surface (ala THX1138.) Or maybe it turns out Arthur is really his bosses testing his resolve. What a wasted effort. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Left me with the most antagonizing half chub in the world. There was no ending and nothing even close to being considered an ending. There is nothing about this movie that should excite anyone. I feel like they had a really good idea going and then passed the script to their grandpa with dementia. I only rated half star because there was no lower option. To the producers, find another career. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review paul s I found this interesting to watch. I know that making a feature length film is quite a challenging undertaking. The concept is a good one. Also, the cinematography and the directing were decent. I couldn't help but think that this idea might have done better if it were cut shorter, maybe even if it were cut as a short film. Perhaps it was artistically deliberate, but reading the computer's response to Roy every time he spoke seemed to take too long, and the answers were aggravating. I'd have preferred a spoken response by the computer. It can be pretty irritating watching one person for an hour and a half, but again, that certainly seemed to be an artistic choice. The feeling of being lonely and claustrophobic felt real to me. The bunker was a depressing place. One more thing...I like to know what's going on in movies. I like a story that reveals a larger picture. There are many questions to what's going on here with Roy that I'd have liked thoroughly answered. Like, what's really going on up top? And, did something bad actually happen up top, or was Roy really just a pawn in a cruel experiment? Notwithstanding my own response to this film, I recognize this work as a great professional achievement. I want to encourage Richard Mundy to see this as a stepping stone to better projects. You can certainly get things done, as evidenced by this project. Seriously, I hope Richard Mundy takes my words as encouragement. I'm not intending to discourage him artistically because he's done far more than most aspiring artists. Just don't stop. Keep moving forward! Got it??? Good luck. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member The worst movie I've seen this year. What a senseless unholy mess. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member I do believe this is the worst written movie I've ever seen. Squandering so much potential. Great acting, set design, and premise. Then the writer director, Richard Mindy, got drunk and handed everything over to his high school friends. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews
