Stefan Birgir Stefans sbs.is Impressively unoriginal; however, it has charm since it's so inanely written and all together stupid. There are decent performances, while others are straight out of "Miami Connection." The film is fun and a worthwhile silly watch. Rated: 2.5/5 Mar 3, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Directed and written by Paul Hunt (Wild, Free & Hungry, The Psychedelics, The Clones) and shot by Gary Graver, which is pretty much the whole reason I picked it, Twister Nightmare comes very, very late to the slasher cash-in year of 1981, but oh well, right? Look, if you get a letter telling you that you won a weekend at Camp Paradise and at some point in the past someone whose mom may or may not be a friend of the Christy's died there and all sorts of rumors of doom keep smacking you in the face, you should probably not go. That said, there are a lot of dudes in half shirts and Graver knows how to shoot a monster in the woods, all blue lights and fog. If this movie were just those scenes on a loop, I would probably like it more. This movie is so thirsty to be a Jason movie that it was shot on the same set as Friday the 13th Part III and even has homage, err, rip-off of the pitchfork 3D kill from that movie. It also takes a kill from Silent Night, Deadly Night and then decides that its killer can call down lightning as if it were Christopher Lambert whitewashing a movie role. That said, not many movies have their slasher use hot stones to beat someone to death Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Did not live up to the hype of 80s' horror. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Let me clear about this: Twisted Nightmare is not a good movie. It's not even a good horror movie. It's sloppy and silly almost the entire time with dialogue and delivery that just makes you wonder what in the hell you've stumbled upon. That being said, this was one hilarious movie to watch. The bad one-liners just kept coming and the horrible acting just kept making it better and better. The plot involves a group of college students (I think) who return to an old farmhouse where one of the student's siblings was tragically killed. When they arrive, everything goes wrong and they're all bumped off one by one. It's cliche'd as all can be, but man was this a fun movie to watch. If you're a fan of the "so bad it's good" genre that seems to be emerging these days, definitely check this one out. I recommend it highly for that reason alone. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Lousy backwoods slasher that scraps the bottom of the barrel of this genre. The acting & characters are horrendous even for this formula. The killer & motive blows. Worst of all (because it is mostly what you came to the game for) the kills are executed pretty shitty. By 87 this had all been played out pretty much even though I think I read somewhere that this was shot in 82 & sat on the shelf for 5 years. It isn't difficult to figure out why. It's just that shit. If you have seen a few of this formula you have seen everything in this film has to offer except it's played out to tedium. You can see the motive coming from a mile away & if you haven't fallen asleep by the end you surely won't give a fuck. One of the worst horror movies I have seen in a long time..& not in a good way Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
