Peter Debruge Variety The idea is to bring father-child stakes into all this mayhem, which works to a degree. But in the movie’s desire to wring tears...The film winds up having it both ways once too often. Jun 18, 2024 Full Review Jordan Mintzer The Hollywood Reporter Ultraman: Rising will likely touch viewers, especially ages 10 and under, for its story of a young man trying to be a good dad while also reconnecting with his own estranged father, in what ultimate becomes a parable about responsible parenting. Jun 18, 2024 Full Review Eric Vilas-Boas New York Magazine/Vulture Ultraman: Rising may be a kaleidoscopically color-timed action adventure of throw-down battles, but it’s really about parenting in its many shapes and forms. Jun 17, 2024 Full Review Jared Mobarak Hey, Have You Seen ...? It's a fun journey with important themes that never talks down to its audience and an emotionally mature look at familial structures and the danger of letting one's pain dictate their actions. Rated: 8/10 Dec 13, 2024 Full Review Daniel Howat Next Best Picture While “Ultraman: Rising” doesn’t rely on pre-existing knowledge of the legendary character, it’s a solid enough entry in the franchise that could help newcomers, kids especially, want to dive deeper into the mythology. Rated: 7/10 Nov 26, 2024 Full Review Sean Chandler Sean Chandler Talks About Ultraman: Rising is a great on-ramp for people new to the Ultraman mythology. While it's filled with Ultraman lore and kaiju battles, it's also a universal story about parents and children. Rated: B+ Nov 18, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Zyrus C I tried to stay up but it was awesome. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/17/24 Full Review Om D Good movie brought my childhood memories of the character back, it was a joy to see this movie. Animation is great it is done by ILM who also did Transformers ONE so it's a very beautiful mix of 3D & 2D elements and smooth movement with the hint of Japanese versions, Voice acting is also great too Primarirly made for kids so adults might find it boring but overall, it's a nice family film and watching it with family will be a good time Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/29/24 Full Review dave d New to the Ultraman franchise, but this is a new universe so there's no need to know anything. This isn't spectacular, but it's fast, colorful, and engaging. The story is a touch slow, but audiences of adults and kids should be satisfied. There is a lot to like. Final Score: 7/10 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/26/24 Full Review kevin p This movie genuinely changed the way I looked at myself. I always tried to be Ultraman, transforming myself to be all big and tough looking, but inside, was a hollow and shallow little boy that does it all for attention like Sato. It made me cry in a way that I haven't in forever. I was shouting and hollering like a newborn baby, begging for my mom to come back, but she never will. I kept waiting, and waiting, and waiting for her to come back and be the mom I knew and loved during 7th grade, but I knew she won't. I struggled trying to deal with it like Ultraman and not the person inside. A big persona for a small personality. All the pent up stress building up and exploding all at once. Just like Sato. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/25/24 Full Review Gianni M The movie has a simple story that shows a hero trying to balence it with his normal life while raking care of a baby titan, simple but the way they do it was so good and emotional some scenes. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/21/24 Full Review elijah b I like it but I want Vinnie to be the writer if the upcoming monsterverse film Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/16/24 Full Review Read all reviews
