An insightful look at an historic moment from numerous perspectives of different cameras, its only problem is the emotional disconnection made with the viewer where only the technical aspects are valued.

The comments below speak better than I can about why this film is interesting and important. It is a primary text.
I would have liked more narration in some parts, because content of the voice-overs that were inserted are thought-provoking. In my copy of the DVD, the English language subtitles were de-synchronized from the audio, which detracted some from the viewing--- also, sometimes dialogue was not translated, which was frustrating.

This is one of the more amazing documentaries I've ever seen. It is a stunning look at the role television played in manufacturing the Romanian revolution. Even more than that, it's a beautiful and insightful structuralist essay on the relationship between image and history.

A masterpiece of Farocki's semiotic documentaries. A startling film that not only documents the 1989 Romanian revolution but displays the neccessity of the transmission of images via occupation of the television station to the success of overthrowing Ceausescu.
