Deep in the woods of Northern California lies the off-the-grid town of Willits, a haven for marijuana growers, meth addicts and conspiracy theorists. When a gaggle of vacationing teens unknowingly set up their campsite on the property of Willits' most disturbed resident, a psychotic, drug-addled pot farmer who is convinced that extraterrestrials are out to get him, they're in for one hell of a bad time.

The brother filmmaking team of writer Tim Ryan and director Trevor Ryan exhibit imagination, but haven't developed the skills to mold their many ideas into a cohesive picture. Go to Full Review

... it's got just about everything and the kitchen sink, even Dolph Lundgren indirectly in a way that totally works. Go to Full Review

A twisty redneck genre flick that partially thrives on its odd stoner humor, then loses something as it shifts to something far darker. Go to Full Review

Emilie P Mar 28 took about three quarters of the movie to get anywhere. extremely boring and not captivating at all, movies sucks ass do not recommend if your not interested in wasting your time See more 02/13/2021 Welcome to willits 13.2.21 3.2/0. Amusing but tosh. Inconsistencies. You could have cut it in half, the film that is, and still got the idea across. D.B. See more adam b 08/20/2019 Some fun stuff here with some really bizarrely funny scenes but fell apart in the the final act See more 01/22/2019 I really didn't know what to expect from this movie. I saw the "comedy" and "horror" tags, a combination of genres I've enjoyed in the past, and tonight I was in the mood for something new, so I gave it a try. As far as comedy goes, this wont leave you laughing out loud too often - but the dialogue made me smile or chuckle quite a few times. When the humor hits right, it's dry and quirky. The horror bit actually kept me guessing through maybe two-thirds of the film. I was trying to figure out whether this was a monster / alien film, and how much of what was going to be hinted at were clues or misdirection. Needless to say, I hadn't researched "Willits" at all - which is part of what I enjoyed: discovering what was really going on. I thought the concept wasn't terribly original, but the acting and some creative playing-with the-audience's-mind is what made this memorable. I've seen some criticism from folks who didn't like the way the film evolved, but for me, the evolution is part of its charm. No, this wasn't going to win academy awards, but it's much better than I was expecting, and I've filed it away mentally something I'd recommend to the right kind of friends.
