Adult in tone, its a serious exploration of what rebellion and revolution actually looks like. It isn't afraid to take its time with the story and lets us get to know the various characters, so when events take place and the characters are put in jeopardy you are actually seriously invested. After being pestered for years, I finally watched Andor. It was beautifully filmed, the sets and costumes were on point, and it felt like a return to what made Star Wars so wonderful. Unfortunately, Andor capitalized on making you "feel", so when your brain finally catches up, the 5 starts quickly turn into 3. I am not sure about so many of the writing decisions and many of the story arcs went nowhere. The entire prison sequence could have been completely written out as it added nothing other than "Empire bad." The prisoners, especially Kino, are just never heard from again. We had tons of plot placed into this missing sister, but it goes nowhere yet, and they have set up so many arcs for so many people that I am not sure how they hope to close them all off in 1 more season. The second season did that but I'm ahead of myself. This is worth watching with Rogue One and A New Hope. It world builds without being lazy. It's inventive and some of the best writing in televison ever. Yes, ever. People who say it's not my star wars or thought it was boring is a note to take but this fan since 77 couldn't feel farther away from that.
