After a whirlwind courtship, bartender and single mom Roxy marries Army Pfc. Trevor LeBlanc and moves with him and her two children to an Army base in Charleston, S.C. There, she soon becomes close friends with other wives on the base, including Denise Sherwood, whose son, Jeremy, temporarily abused her after the deployment of her husband, Maj. Frank Sherwood, until Jeremy joined the service himself; and psychiatrist Roland Burton, a male "Army wife" trying to help his spouse, Lt. Col. Joan Burton, who is struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder. David Hinckley New York Daily News Army Wives is soap that doesn't get in your eyes. Rated: 4/5 Jun 5, 2009 Full Review Alan Pergament Buffalo News You can do a lot worse than re-enlisting in this appealing Army [Wives]. Rated: 3/4 Oct 18, 2019 Full Review Will Harris Bullz-Eye.com Army Wives is, well, it is what it is, and that's a soap opera. Given how daytime drama is falling by the wayside in rapid fashion, we can use a bit more melodrama on television, and lord knows Lifetime knows how to do it right. Rated: 3.5/5 Oct 18, 2019 Full Review Sandrine Sahakians TV Equals This season has potential for so many stories and so many dramas, I think that it's going to remind us of why we love the show so much. Louise C Season Three's storyline has several ups and downs, with a good dose of drama! There were a few moments that were not enjoyable, but in context of the story unfolding. Great performances all round. The character development is good, I am starting to like or dislike certain people more as we see how they behave and respond to stress. Episode 6 'Family Readiness' was my favourite. It had all the elements one could hope for in a family /community oriented Army Base. Jeremy bonds with a stray dog in Iraq after a close call and names him Lucky. Joan and Roland plan for Sara Elizabeth's christening. They have it in a church that emphasized community rather than religion. Using a pink rose, the pastor blessed the wee girl touching her feet, hands, eyes, lips and heart, as he recited the words. It was LOVELY. Frank tells Denise that he really wants to stay together and Dee agrees. Haneen needs microsurgery , so the Holden family have her to stay for a month. Emmalin relates to Haneen so well, it is healing for both girls. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews
