When presumed-dead billionaire playboy Oliver Queen returns home to Starling City after five years stranded on a remote island in the Pacific, he hides the ways the experience has changed him. As he reconnects with those closest to him, including his sister, Thea, Oliver appears to be the same wealthy, carefree bachelor they've always known. At night, flanked by his devoted friend, Diggle, Oliver uses his secret persona -- that of a vigilante -- to right societal wrongs and transform the city to its former glory.

Alan Sepinwall HitFix The Flash is getting all the plaudits right now, but that's the new and shiny (and so far, very solid) thing. We've gotten used to Arrow at this point, but in the way where we expect goodness from it. And "The Calm" delivered on that. Oct 9, 2014 Full Review Mandy Treccia TV Source Magazine "The Calm" introduced us to someone we barely recognized - Oliver with a positive outlook on life. Jan 18, 2019 Full Review Conner Schwerdtfeger CinemaBlend The result was a gritty season that, while still on the weaker side, featured several of the show's best moments. Jul 11, 2018 Full Review Kayti Burt Den of Geek Arrow's context heading into its fourth season? Well, it kind of sucked last year, but it built up enough goodwill in its second season for me to continue giving this show the benefit of the doubt. Jul 11, 2018 Full Review Jeremy Jahns JeremyJahns.com The show went in some new directions this season that were necessary for Oliver's character...I liked that, but I can see how that alienated some fans. It still had some excellent moments, but it is slipping... Jul 11, 2018 Full Review Noel Kirkpatrick TV.com What a breath of fresh air Routh's Ray Palmer is! Obviously the character was conceived in no small part as a complement to Emily Bett Rickards' take on Felicity. Oct 9, 2014 Full Review Read all reviews

Wyatt C not a bad season but i enjoyed this one 8/10 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/08/24 Full Review Clover G Arrow Season 3 Review (5.8/10): Arrow Season 3, while striving to maintain the essence of its predecessors, grapples with several challenges that impact its overall quality, resulting in a rating of 5.8/10. While the season retains some of the elements that initially captivated audiences, such as its action sequences and visual appeal, it struggles to sustain the same level of narrative coherence and emotional impact that characterized earlier installments. One of the notable shortcomings of Season 3 lies in its pacing and storyline. The narrative at times feels disjointed, with certain plotlines lacking the cohesiveness and urgency that were hallmarks of the series. The overarching story arc may come across as less compelling, leading to a sense of inconsistency and a diminished level of engagement for viewers. Despite the show's commitment to character development, Season 3 falls short in this aspect. While previous seasons excelled in portraying the personal journeys and growth of the characters, Season 3's character development may feel stagnant in comparison. The emotional resonance that was a defining feature of the series appears to be less pronounced, impacting the depth of connection that viewers feel with the characters. Additionally, the portrayal of villains and antagonists in Season 3 is a notable area of concern. The series had previously thrived in presenting formidable adversaries, but the antagonists introduced in this season may not leave as lasting an impression. The lack of truly compelling foes diminishes the overall sense of peril and suspense that viewers had come to expect from the show. While Season 3 struggles in these areas, it continues to showcase well-executed action sequences and visually appealing cinematography. The commitment to delivering captivating visuals and dynamic combat remains a notable aspect, providing moments of excitement and spectacle throughout the season. However, these strengths may not fully compensate for the season's other shortcomings. In conclusion, Arrow Season 3, while making efforts to uphold the series' legacy, faces challenges in terms of pacing, narrative coherence, character development, and the portrayal of its antagonists. While the action and visuals maintain a level of quality, the season's overall impact may leave viewers wanting more. As a result, Season 3 receives a rating of 5.8/10. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/11/24 Full Review Fawzi G Arrow's definitely my favorite superhero. I loved the show so much that my grandparents even bought me his jacket for my birthday. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/10/23 Full Review julian p I think this is the good season. Action is great a 10/10. Acting is perfect. CGI is great. Villain I love Ra's he's an underrated character especially in. Writing 8/10. Story/plot 9/10. Casting 9/10. Characters I love Ray, I didn't like Captain Lance for S1, S2 but this season I like him, Tatsu, Maseo (in the flash backs), Nyssa, Lyla 9/10. Character development goes to Malcolm Merlyn I think he's my favorite character in all Arrow S3 10/10. Adventure is good. Mystery is good-great 9/10. Ending Oliver kills Darhk 9/10. But what I don't like is that Sara decides to die later it's revealed that Malcolm is the reason why Sara is dead and then towards the end of the season Roy decides to leave to but at least he could have used his Arsenal suit and Oliver would have named himself the Green Arrow. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/21/23 Full Review Wyatt G While not horrible, season 3 fails to live up to the hype or expectation of the previous seasons. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/10/23 Full Review Lorenzo R Still action packed and great, but Starling City almost being destroyed for the third is becoming a bit repetitive.
