Tom Selleck stars as Frank Reagan, the New York Police Commissioner, and patriarch of the Reagan clan, a multigenerational family of cops. Frank's oldest son is Danny, a seasoned detective and Iraqi War veteran who occasionally uses dubious tactics to solve cases. Daughter Erin, the lone female, is an assistant district attorney. Fresh out of Harvard Law, Jamie is the youngest member and "golden boy" of the family. Jamie gave up a lucrative future in law to continue the family's tradition in police work, and is asked to participate in a secretive investigation that even his father does not know about.

Andy Bailey The Hollywood Reporter "Blue Bloods" excels through its high-tone production values...and standout performances from Selleck and Wahlberg, whose moral ambiguity and thinly veiled powder-keg fury...promises to fuel the series through a gripping first season. Mar 29, 2019 Full Review Zack Handlen AV Club This feels different than what you expect on other shows of this sort, and that should be encouraged. I can't recommend Bloods right now, though. Jan 25, 2019 Full Review Emily St. James AV Club Blue Bloods' pilot is good, but it's not good enough to remove that small, nagging doubt that this will all end poorly. Jan 25, 2019 Full Review Michelle Carlbert TV Equals What I dug about Blue Bloods was the fact that on one hand it's a family drama, but on the other it's a crime drama. I wasn't sure how well those two things would mix, but they did it very well. Jan 25, 2019 Full Review Michael Crider Screen Rant So, is Blue Bloods good enough? For the most part, yes. While certainly not the best procedural out there, it's better than the lions share, and certainly the best on CBS at the moment. Jan 25, 2019 Full Review Will Wade Common Sense Media While some of these themes are decidedly mature, the overall show is positive, insightful, and entertaining. Paloma B at first I thought I wouldn't like it, considering it looked like any other cop show, but I ended up falling in love with it! Like I have a total brainrot for this show now, can't stop thinking about it and what will happen to the characters. Seriously the characters are my absolute favorite part of the show. My fav is Maria, and I'm really hoping to see her end up with Danny. If not now, maybe in some possible Blue Bloods-spinoff. Can't believe CBS decided to cancel such a gem of a show. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/23/24 Full Review Eric G I love this show! Great characters, great story lines, and an honest portrayal of the controversy surrounding the police. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/16/24 Full Review Paul D Boilerplate, by the numbers, predictable cop show. I tried hard to stay with this series, but I kept falling asleep. Tom Selleck has turned into the Big Giant Head from Mork and Mindy. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/14/23 Full Review Andy S (I'm Mistletoe Virus I'm saying I like this show!) I have nothing but love for this show. Not only it is a cop show, it is family loyalty show too. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/11/23 Full Review Russell T The character of Danny Reagan is such a turnoff I often end up turning off the TV. If this character is any where realistic the police unit should have fired him a long time ago. Impetuous, trigger happy, and completely lacking in judgment and integrity; God forbid any police departments would entertain this behavior in real life - then, again, maybe that is why many have gotten a bad name. Certainly this sort of behavior would sully any reputable department. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/01/23 Full Review Schroyer Family D What I have is a real appreciation of for this season is getting to know the entire family. I love that each member of the family is somehow in law enforcement and work together to solve various crimes that happen in the the beloved city of New York. It's truly a well thought out series with real life situations that happen on a regular basis. During this season you find out that the newest addition to the badge and uniform, Jamie Reagan, played by Will Estes, finds out there is a hidden organization that his brother Joe Reagan was in before passing away. The show gets really intense after each episode as it digs deeper and deeper on what secrets are being held within the New York City Police Department and the Reagan Family. It's a must watch for everyone.
