Tom Selleck stars as Frank Reagan, the New York Police Commissioner, and patriarch of the Reagan clan, a multigenerational family of cops. Frank's oldest son is Danny, a seasoned detective and Iraqi War veteran who occasionally uses dubious tactics to solve cases. Daughter Erin, the lone female, is an assistant district attorney. Fresh out of Harvard Law, Jamie is the youngest member and "golden boy" of the family. Jamie gave up a lucrative future in law to continue the family's tradition in police work, and is asked to participate in a secretive investigation that even his father does not know about.

christopher l The show continues its dance across our screens with great performances by a seasoned cast. What keeps it fresh is that it is less about the crimes procedurally and more about the characters. Drama is what it gives, and in spades. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member LOVE THE BLUE BLOODS❣❣❣❣❣❣ Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member The character Linda being removed kills the majority of the family aspect of the show unfortunately. The season seemed rather middling, got on the nose at times. Episode 8 was blunt - race realist former cop moves into an area to fight gangs, episode pushed that it had a racial angle though always denied by the character it was accepted as truth. Even had instances of that group being told to leave as the gangs seemed to own the neighborhood, something the cops let slide. Eventually it ended in all of them dying in a shootout after the police sat on evidence of the prior break-in, and pulling protection they had placed after the ACLU rightly pointed out they should not have made the association to the group after the initial racists arrest. I would have let that slide, but the following episode ended in an ethical defense of a convicted pedophile. Need to smooth the writing out, get the characters back to their roots. Shouldn't have killed off Linda but now that you have, got to replace that hole it leaves with a wife or girlfriends family angle. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member A consistently well-written and extremely well-Acted family/police drama. It's a throw-back to the way family dramas used to be made, with a modern twist. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Still loVe it after all tHese years Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Blue Bloods season 8 is the worst decision Tom Sellock ever made. The show once had great potential but then shit hit the fan and everything went to the slums. The story plot is nothing more than grasping at straws and begging for an audience to tune in. Which is a shame as SOME of the actors actually once had talent. The cheap one liners, crappy attempts for drama, orange make up and CHEESEY speeches made by Sellock make me want to punch the old man in the face. The characters are underdeveloped and the Danny's (Donnie Walhberg) sons resemble baby ogres. I don't hate this show and I hate the story! It's shits.
