What to Know

Critics Consensus

Despite a semi-reboot of its original premise, Chuck stays true to form, with Zachary Levi proving that he can play the action hero as well as the nerd.

Keith Phipps AV Club The show's walking a fine line, and here it takes a Han-Solo-at-the-end-of-A-New-Hope-style appearance from Casey to do the killing to keep it on it. Rated: B Nov 29, 2017 Full Review Steve Heisler AV Club Rarely does a show get under my skin in a good way like Chuck does. It's smart, funny, got plenty of non-cheesy action and a whole lot of pop culture savvy. Rated: B+ Dec 13, 2016 Full Review Brian Tallerico HollywoodChicago.com In a very smart move, Chuck has undergone something of a reboot in an attempt to find a wider audience although it's by no means a sell-out of the original concept of the show. Rated: 3.5/5 Dec 13, 2016 Full Review Billy Grifter Den of Geek I'd like to congratulate the Chuck team. This was the best season so far, and long may this show keep reinventing itself. Oct 20, 2018 Full Review Dustin Rowles Pajiba "Chuck" continues to impress me, mostly because at the end of each episode, I'm left satisfied but with the feeling that it surely can't last much longer. And yet it does. Jun 19, 2018 Full Review Brendan Bettinger Collider It will be difficult for Chuck to ever reach the heights it did in the last stretch of episodes of episodes of season two, but the creative team assembled some darn good efforts this season. Audience Member Agent Shaw brought a new layer of drama and tension to the series, but his presence ultimately disrupted the chemistry that made the show so enjoyable. While his character had potential, his storyline felt forced and took away from the charm and connection that defined the earlier episodes. Instead of adding depth, his arc left the series feeling unbalanced and, at times, frustrating to watch. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/05/25 Full Review St R A great action comedy! Same for season three! The cast is brilliant. Levi is awesome. Baldwin is legit! And I will forever compare every leading lady with Strahovski; she's a brilliant actress with mad skills as an action lead and the love story she tells with Levi is compelling and inspiring. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/06/23 Full Review Izaac A Perfect series. The third season of Chuck, despite being rebooted, is an example that not all sequels can be terrible. Would recommend to anyone a fan of action-drama series. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/30/23 Full Review Kevin B Love this show and I wish they would bring it back. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review slyc3 shaw was a pretty good villain and overall this was a pretty strong season Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/28/22 Full Review J Still a great season, with great moments. But you can see the writers are beginning to faulter. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/03/23 Full Review Read all reviews
