What to Know

Critics Consensus

Retaining its first season's laidback charms without resting on its hind legs, Colin from Accounts' second outing is as cranky, funny, and delightful as ever.

Rachel Cooke New Statesman Writing about Colin from Accounts instantly deflates it, partly because it’s so well written -- the humour coiled and cumulative, unfolding from its characters’ back and forth like comedy origami. Sep 11, 2024 Full Review Lucy Mangan Guardian I cannot tell you with what trepidation I approached the second season, or how delighted I am to tell you that everything that made it great is back -- and that the new batch of episodes is shaping up to be better than ever. Rated: 5/5 Sep 5, 2024 Full Review Dylan Jones London Evening Standard Like the first series, it’s thin on belly laughs, but captivating all the same -- each episode is pregnant with expectation, and often excruciating, as invariably one of the characters embarrasses themselves. Rated: 4/5 Sep 5, 2024 Full Review Carly Lane Collider Colin from Accounts might partly be a show about and named for a dog — and a very cute one, at that (seriously, try watching this show and not audibly reacting every time he appears on-screen) — but it succeeds most because of the humans at its heart. Rated: 9/10 Sep 20, 2024 Full Review Barbara Ellen Observer (UK) The result is tight, sharp, witty, naughty and strange. The second season of Colin from Accounts is that rare follow-up that isn’t just as good as the first -- it’s better. Rated: 5/5 Sep 16, 2024 Full Review Alison Rowat The Herald (Scotland) Delighted to say the second series delivers more of the same. If the gag-packed script, solid characters and unashamed silliness don’t win you over, there’s always Colin in close-up, his fur blowing in the wind. Missed you, mate. Angela B The first series was lovely. It was well written, funny and tender. After watching and hating the first three episodes of series 2 I gave the series 2 stars as I found it vulgar and unfunny. I persevered and found the later episodes had much of the humour and quirky charm of the first series so upgraded my score to 3 and a half stars. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/17/24 Full Review Sam M One of the best shows I've ever had the pleasure of watching. Not much makes laugh out loud but this show... my god. I'm so sad I don't have another episode to watch. Season 3? Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/13/24 Full Review P Y This show is one of the best on TV right now. The second season adds even more depth while remaining absolutely hilarious. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/08/24 Full Review Mark W One of the best shows on Telly atm. Love it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/27/24 Full Review Wiliko W I love this series. Season 1 was good, season 2 was great! I did notice the nRL product placement in the second season, thought a more ‘Aussie AFL theme’ would have given the show more recognition and a unique aspect. I know the program is based in Sydney- not a Swans supporter but would have fitted perfectly. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/19/24 Full Review Jeff A The first season was excellent and I'm not a sitcom fan. Season 2 often tries too hard. It is still watchable, just don't expect the same level.
