After exacting revenge on the people responsible for the deaths of his wife and children, Frank Castle uncovers a conspiracy that runs deeper than New York's criminal underworld. Now known as the Punisher, he must dig deep into the conspiracy to discover the truth about injustices that affect more than just him and his family. Assisting the vigilante in his quest to fight criminals are best friend Billy Russo, who runs private military corporation Anvil, and former NSA analyst Micro, who shares common enemies with Castle and helps him as part of a so-called marriage of convenience.

Wenlei Ma News.com.au Even though he was a compelling scene-stealer in Daredevil, Frank Castle/The Punisher has never felt quite right in his own show. Season two will do little to change that impression. Jan 31, 2019 Full Review Alex Abad-Santos Vox The show's signature fight scenes are still fantastic, as is the Punisher himself, Jon Bernthal. But something seemed to go wrong in the writers' room this go-round. Rated: 2.5/5 Jan 23, 2019 Full Review Liz Shannon Miller IndieWire What makes this season of "The Punisher" work so well is that it feels less like a Season 2 and more like a Season 5, a standalone story in the established adventures of Frank Castle. Rated: B+ Jan 22, 2019 Full Review Samantha Puc The Beat Although [Frank's] relationships are still present in season two, they unfortunately fall by the wayside. Instead, the villains take an unnecessary amount of focus, which makes this season significantly less impactful than its predecessor. Jul 9, 2024 Full Review Joseph Garcia Dynamic Duel Podcast I like the ideas in this season more than the execution. ... The story arcs with Jigsaw and Pilgrim didn't jive in the way the writers wanted, leaving the show without a strong, singular narrative. Vasqu3z V Started good and interesting but the Plots going a Bit out of the Line and has some Plot Holes. Characters act a little strangely. Chemistry between Frank and Amy is good and their Farewell is great and emotionally! Actions/Fight Scenes are sometimes very good sometimes unclear with too many Cuts. Blood Effects really dont look good at some Scenes. Expected a different Ending, a better One tbh Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/05/25 Full Review allan m Didn't need another season of Russo. Of course he escaped, of course the psychiatrist sheltered him. Started well, but quickly became slow and convoluted. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/03/25 Full Review Audience Member It feels like a mexican novel, but worse Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/12/25 Full Review Tyler S A decent step down from season 1 in my opinion. Still didn't think it was bad, I just thought with a pretty massive story change, I did not feel as invested. The characters and story were all good, but nothing that blew me away. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/02/25 Full Review Cole G This sequel season does enough to be enjoyable, however it could’ve been so much more. Jon Bernthal stays amazing as Frank Castle and delivers some epic action. The writing is still consistently good. Agent Madani continues to be a solid side character along with the new addition of Amy who did grow on me as the season went on, but some lackluster villains (Jigsaw especially), uninteresting side plots, and a decently slow place kept this from being great. 6.5/10 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/14/25 Full Review The Great John A The Punisher's story continues in this second and final installment of the acclaimed netflix show. Set after a brutal brawl out from the climax of S1, Frank tries to move on from the past but many things stop him from doing so, mainly a 16 year old girl called Amy (Gorgina Whigham) who becomes targeted by a wealthy family that kill all of her friends due to photos she keeps of the family's son that could damage their image. With this new mission, Frank must stop any threat from hunting down Amy, and himself with new and old faces showing up to aid or attack them. An interesting Leon/Man On Fire plot with The Punisher here, and for the most part Amy and Frank have very good chemistry together. Amy just wants to leap into action with guns and vengeance, but Frank gives her tough love in an effort to keep her safe and I do appreciate this new addition definitely a plus there. Villain-wise Billy returning was a bold move, although I think the character was a lot more weaker than S1 as there really wasn't much of a point for him to return but I guess it must've been fan service. His relationship with a therapist (can't remember her name 😔) may have saved his revival a little bit as their session turn into a twisted love story that does become quite engaging. John Pilgrim (Josh Stewart) was portrayed very well as a cold killer with strong Christian beliefs. Overall, while the show loses steam midway, The Punisher still retains it's charm and never shys away from it's brutal action, making it as equally good as S1.
