Joel Keller Decider We like the idea of Newtopia, though it feels like we could have gotten a little more context about the central romance in the first episode. We just hope the comedic zombie action picks up quickly. Feb 11, 2025 Full Review Sarah Musnicky But Why Tho? A Geek Community Newtopia Episodes 1-2 start things off with a bang. This rom-com zombie apocalypse nightmare, in its inaugural episodes, shows us a glimpse of the madness coming to our eyeballs. Rated: 8/10 Feb 8, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Most brain rotting zomcom ever; I get what they were trying to achieve with this series but the execution is so dull!! This could have been a 2 hour movie and I would loved it then. It's unreasonably stretched to kill time. 8 episodes? I didn't like the idea of a short series initially, being a blink I wanted to see Jisoo for longer duration, but meh, I'm done watching...coz like you wait an entire week for the plot to move by 2mm. At this point, I would rather come up with my own ending for the plot and call it a day. I know it's gonna be a disappointment anyway. I think mainly it was the plot and not the actors itself to be blamed, the series lacked story. You still have a confined setting to the story and still deliver impact, like train to Busan. It was too lazy. You really can't see the plot, actors, or the zombies progressing much. Like they discovered alcohol slows the turning in the 2-3rd episode, they could have used it immediately but no only one person knows it works and one person is vaugely guessing, and this isn't the 3-4th episodes, this is pre-final episode...Plot be waiting to mature like it has a 100 episodes...wouldn't recommend. Sorry Jisoo...I know you could have done better. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/15/25 Full Review kamelia k Seruu banget pokoknya Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/07/25 Full Review Samantha B I have never seen such garbage writing, acting and anything like this. It is horrible to have to sit through such cringe and gross incompetence. The entire setting is good, but the roles the actors play are all incompetent dumbasses. I simply cannot sit watching it without having my fight or flight kick in to want to absolutely traumatize these characters. It lost it's comedic purpose to simply being a turnoff. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/06/25 Full Review Paola T I don't especially like zombies, but I decided to give this series a shot, as the romcom vibe of the trailer intrigued me. I was far from disappointed! It's fun, it's fresh, it's well-made and well-acted. I binge-watched the first four episodes in one day. I can't wait for to see what comes next! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/24/25 Full Review Mindula M We've seen zombie dramas, we've seen zombie-romance dramas, and we've seen zombie-comedy dramas. But Newtopia is all of them combined. It's a zombie romance comedy drama— a Zom-Rom-Com, as Jisoo called it.
