Chris Taylor Daily Telegraph (UK) Yet, despite being one of the most intelligent and smartly written dramas of 2010, its glacial pace marked it out for cancellation from an early stage. Oct 23, 2018 Full Review Nancy DeWolf Smith Wall Street Journal It takes itself so seriously that it is a contender for the most pretentious entry on the already crowded field of conspiracy-theory dramas. Aug 1, 2010 Full Review James Poniewozik TIME Magazine Rubicon is not a show for the impatience, and it has the kind of ambitions that could set viewers up for a letdown. But so far, I admire its intelligence. Aug 1, 2010 Full Review Dustin Rowles Pajiba "Rubicon" relies on the tropes of most dramas, like ominous string music and a snail's paced narrative, releasing just enough plot points to make you wonder what the hell this show is all about. Jun 19, 2018 Full Review David Bianculli NPR's Fresh Air Each one is a little more frightening and mind-blowing. May 15, 2018 Full Review Scott D. Pierce Deseret News (Salt Lake City) For a show that's supposed to be a spy thriller, there aren't a whole lot of thrills in Rubicon. Aug 1, 2010 Full Review Read all reviews

Stephen C From reading the other reviews, it appears that many people did not appreciate its complexity. I have to admit that while I enjoyed it immensely, I would not watch it too late at night or with a lot of other people around that wanted to socialize. You kinda sorta had to pay attention because clues were dropped constantly. Hard to tell who was on what side if you weren't paying close attention. Made it a practice to turn the TV to something else around 10 pm or I'd just be rewatching it tomorrow. I was a little frustrated by Travers resistance to the reality of his circumstances but probably realistic. If you think that you have a great job that you really wanted and to which you are eminently well suited, how willing would you actually be to accept that it was in reality something else entirely. Somewhat maddening to accompany Travers in his journey. Found myself wanting to yell at him on the TV but that sort of involvement is a sign of good character development. Really wish that they hadn't cancelled it but it was the sort of story that has an actual ending. Hard to write more after it ends. That's usually when it jumps the shark. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/29/24 Full Review Tigger S Thinking mans Homeland. Should have been another series. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/02/23 Full Review Myles H It's painfully slow, and mixes up some incredibly implausible stories while trying to be serious. I wish I had skipped this show. It's not very good. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member So good why no season 2 Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member minimum music and story goes slow, but great acting tells all.
