A small North Carolina town is turned on its head when a black police officer kills an unarmed white college student. As tensions rise along lines of race, the neglected murder of a black teen is brought to light, reopening old wounds. Investigator Ashe Akino and Special Prosecutor Preston Terry lead the Department of Justice's inquiry into both shootings, pulling back layers to reveal a possible cover-up that appears to involve some of the state's most powerful people, including Gov. Patricia Eamons, whose re-election fight is made tougher by the incidents.

Graeme Blundell The Australian It's a tough crime series, almost documentary in style, about what police call "a good kill", set in black neighbourhoods we rarely see on TV. It's directed with cool competence, and given a highly cinematic look by director of photography Tami Reiker. Apr 14, 2017 Full Review Aramide Tinubu Shadow and Act Gripping and complicated, we don't know much yet about what's really going on in Shots Fired, but I do know that whatever is ahead is going to be absolutely devastating. Apr 12, 2017 Full Review Shannon M. Houston Shadow and Act Rather than being a portrait of a single character, or a single tragedy, the Bythewoods use Shots Fired to construct a portrait of a neighborhood... and the surrounding worlds that have little to do with [it] until the news cameras arrive. Apr 7, 2017 Full Review Clover Hope Jezebel Shots Fired, from what I can tell, will benefit from not being scared to expand perspectives. It's also showing sides of the story that some people don't want to hear. Jun 14, 2018 Full Review Adrian Hennigan Haaretz It all builds into a powerful depiction of an America in which police brutality and corporate corruption are never far from the surface. May 16, 2018 Full Review Megan Basham WORLD Shots Fired isn't afraid to dive into the kind of racial politicization we've seen in the last few years. Feb 21, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member As far as I am concerned, it was an Academy Award Winning Series! It was obviously Written very well! Each Actor, did more than carry their own Weight! Also! The Star, was one the most Charismatic, Talented, and Absolutely Georgeous (there is no other Term to Describe him Adequately) Black American Men, I have Ever seen, and I am 60 yrs Old! Having a Multi Racial Cast, was also - to me - a Big Plus! 👍👍🙂❤ Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a really good show. I wish it was more than 1 season.
