The lives of a group of teenagers in Bristol, England, are followed through two years of sixth form, with the story line of this critically acclaimed series delving into such controversial subjects as substance abuse, sexuality, teenage pregnancy, personality and eating disorders, and mental illness. "Skins" is unique in its casting of amateur actors, and the fact that the cast is replaced every two seasons, when the characters leave school.

Michael Cuby them. There are teen dramas and then there is Skins, the British sensation that taught a whole generation of kids about sex, drugs, teenage pregnancy, queer identity, and what it means to define your own identity. Sep 28, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

Lucy G Watched the first generation cast as a teen and fell in love with the show. A raunchy teen drama about relationships, drugs, sex, growing up, but well executed and each character giving their own distinctive personality. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/28/24 Full Review Prabudhjeet A The teen drama that actually feels how chaotic teen years are. From Casting to setup, to execution acting and the best is GIVING INDIVIDUAL CHARACTER his/her own episode. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/19/24 Full Review user N So much potential in season 1,but absolutly lost in season 2. In the first 2 seasons the characters are very interesting, though there were so many storylines that could have been elaborated much more and would have given the characters more depth. There could have easily been season 3 still based on gen 1. Gen 2 is just a hot mess. If gen 1 bothered me because it was wasted potential, gen 2 is just horrible. Literally watched season 4 just out of the frustration to finish it. Im not going to bother with the next seasons, but if they would have thought it out more and milked gen1 more, that would have been enough and skins would have been a great show. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/29/23 Full Review em I honestly think Series 1 is close to a flawless masterpiece, but there is some lack of character development here and there. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/28/22 Full Review Audience Member Strong, forceful drama, loaded with ugly truths, disturbing situations, and richly complicated lives, told resultant of incredible writing. The whole thing feels disturbing for quite a while, with great performances carrying that feeling. It's a multi-faceted telling of life in all its glory, showcased by a motley group of teens, their families, and teachers. It took me 5-6 episodes to see what it was doing, but I'm so glad I stuck with it Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review neharika h great season i love it Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
