100% 12 Reviews Tomatometer 84% 100+ Ratings Audience Score The Crystal Gems are a team of magical beings who are the self-appointed guardians of the universe. Half-human, half-Gem hero Steven is the "little brother" of the group. The goofball is learning to save the world using the magical powers that come from his bellybutton and he goes on magical adventures with the rest of the Crystal Gems, even though he's not as powerful -- or smart -- as fellow group members Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl. Despite his shortcomings, Steven usually finds a surprising way to save the day. Read More Read Less Watch on Vudu Premiered Apr 22 Buy Now

Previous Sophie Mayer Sight & Sound While Steven Universe hymns "peace and love on the planet Earth", it also clearly refers to issues such as environmental exploitation, indigenous genocide, slavery, industrialisation, disinformation and nativism. Aug 4, 2019 Full Review Robert Lloyd Los Angeles Times The important point is that more diversity among animators means more diverse cartoons. And Sugar's good at this stuff -- which is all that really counts. Sep 20, 2018 Full Review Erik Adams AV Club Obliterates the artificial barriers that distinguish "TV for boys" and "TV for girls." Previous Reqx F WORST show of all time Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/03/23 Full Review Holly D I started watching this show during a really hard time in my life and it was a wonderful wholesome distraction. I ended up binging the entire series in a week. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/03/23 Full Review Cody V The worst cartoon network show Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/12/23 Full Review Johnathon W Delightful first season that sets up the universe and characters. The vocal cast is superb with Zach Callison enduring as the title character, while Deedee Magno brings a motherly warmth as Pearl. Behind the camera, creator Rebecca Sugar crafts a fun cartoon that first appears slight but slowly deepens over time, showing a greater mythology while also providing some subtle commentary on gender and relationship issues (thankfully, it never gets preachy). Overall, one of the best and most original cartoons in recent years. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/24/23 Full Review spyd3rzilla2074 its boring and is even worse than she hulk. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/29/23 Full Review m h although it was good, quite a few episodes were a miss. you'd expect that though, since it's only the first season.
