This long-running Showtime series features intertwined stories about the lives and loves of a group of lesbians and bisexuals in Los Angeles. The characters date, get into committed relationships, consider having families, hook up, break up, question their sexuality, stay in the closet, come out or sleep around -- sometimes all of the above.

Heather Havrilesky Salon.com The finale was every bit as awful as the entire season, and there's no way to cover the whole, ugly mess. Mar 21, 2019 Full Review Hillary Frey Observer The L Word, however, is regressing into a petulant adolescence. Mar 20, 2019 Full Review Hanna Hanra Guardian Jenny Schecter, a character so annoying she eventually - via a spectacularly awful, shark-jumping dream sequence - became the undoing of the whole show. Mar 20, 2019 Full Review Marisa Carroll PopMatters Although The L Word's writing over the years has been uneven at best, outlandish at worst, the series should be commended for raising tricky questions about race, gender, and orientation. Rated: 6/10 Apr 1, 2020 Full Review Tamara Gorzalka Vue Weekly (Edmonton, Alberta) It has no business being on anyone's television. Mar 21, 2019 Full Review Susan G. Cole NOW Toronto The L Word was the only show this season that let me step into some kind of lesbian life, even if it was fake. Jun 29, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Autumn T The differences between 1 and 6 are drastic and well numbered. I think the U.S. should take some notes from the U.K. and learn to let certain series die naturally. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/18/24 Full Review Audience Member The l word is amazing web series. I like it। Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Fantastic. We need more shows like this please Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Giving three stars for one simple reason, the nostalgia. The L word is undeniably a staple in the Lesbian/Bi culture. That being said, season 6 is a poor reflection of a massive movement in television. It plot was allowed to run away with grand intentions, but poor execution. Jenny was not only a thorn in the side of every character on the show, but the show as a whole. If there was ever a prime example of how to make an unlikable character go too far and lose its purpose, Jenny would be just that example. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
