Jon Wilde Guardian The Wire's consistency is nothing short of staggering. Oct 21, 2019 Full Review John Doyle Globe and Mail It is easily the best show on television. Put simply, it's a masterpiece of storytelling, drama, humour and social observation. Oct 21, 2019 Full Review Austin Smith New York Post The producers of The Wire have made for themselves a host of challenges, especially the challenge of casting and directing a couple of dozen kid actors with varying levels of professional experience. At this, the producers have succeeded enormously. Rated: 4/4 Oct 19, 2019 Full Review Robert Abele L.A. Weekly The Wire has the sharpest writing, the best directing, incredible performances, unforgettable characters, tragic suspense, deep emotion, raucous humor and everything you'd ever want from a show you watch week to week. Oct 19, 2019 Full Review Seth Freilich Pajiba Easily the best show currently on television, and if I ever sit down to make a list of the all-time top shows, it will certainly sit comfortably in the top five. May 29, 2018 Full Review Brice Ezell PopMatters More or less universally recognized as the The Wire's crown jewel, season 4 is indeed brilliant, and it does contain the most trenchant criticism the show makes.
