Superheroes are often as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and sometimes even as revered as gods. But that's when they're using their powers for good. What happens when the heroes go rogue and start abusing their powers? When it's the powerless against the super powerful, the Boys head out on a heroic quest to expose the truth about the Seven and Vought, the multibillion-dollar conglomerate that manages the superheroes and covers up their dirty secrets. Based on the comic book series of the same name.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Boxing in the political arena with a bloodied smile, The Boys' fourth season is grim and even a little glum while holding up a cracked mirror towards modern society.

Alex Abad-Santos Vox At the heart of The Boys is a brash deconstruction of the superhero fantasy, taking apart the traditional comic book superhero arc where super-powered beings save the day and defend those who can’t defend themselves. Jun 26, 2024 Full Review Richard Lawson Vanity Fair There are pleasures, if you can call anything on this show pleasant, to be found in season four, even if it struggles to wrestle true meaning from its annihilating riot. Jun 12, 2024 Full Review Brian Lowry CNN.com The series might have lost some of its freshness but not its ability to surprise and provoke, peeling back its mask a little further to issue a warning about the danger of brightly colored fascism. Jun 12, 2024 Full Review Anthony Morris ScreenHub The series might be called The Boys, but it’s Starr’s star turn as Homelander that people come to see. Initially he was the antagonist; now he’s the lead in all but name Rated: 4/5 Sep 26, 2024 Full Review Tara Ariano Cracked After Season Four, it’s the show I would most love to see age into complete incomprehensibility, but I recognize that it’s probably too much to hope for. Aug 28, 2024 Full Review Jackie K. Cooper jackiekcooper.com More sex and gore but less character and plot. Rated: 6/10 Jul 30, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Ben B Loved seasons 1-2.5, last half of 3 and now 4 has really taken a dive to the point I can't even finish it. The political sledgehammering and fantastically annoying filler side plots have just ruined it. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/19/25 Full Review Alexander S This is unfortunately where The Boys finally loses its footing. Season 4 was a real letdown. It felt like a stretch of the ongoing story, with a plot that wasn’t particularly engaging. In fact, it delved deeper into its political themes than ever before, introducing new characters who resembled certain right-wing political figures and people with extreme right-wing views. While exploring these themes could have been a more nuanced and appealing approach to the audience, instead, it resorted to villainizing individuals with Republican views. On the positive side, it ends on a satisfying cliffhanger. It still has its humorous and dramatic moments with the leading characters, which keeps us engaged. Additionally, it explores the conflict between the supporting protagonist characters, which is a positive development. Grading: C Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/18/25 Full Review MAMA M the boys season 4 episode four, timestamp 3:45. great acting, great scene. omg i love it Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/25 Full Review giovanni l Come on its to much Man on Man action going on ..enough is enough ..kicking a dead horse is what season 4 is Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/10/25 Full Review jandre e Terrible story writing, they decide too much shock and not enough storytelling. The completely messed up Frenchie, hes just an awful character in S4. And once an for all leave political stuff at home and just write a good story Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/10/25 Full Review Chaos A 🏆84% The Boys Season 4 might be the weakest Season of the Series, but it’s still great and has an amazing Season finale! There’s many things to like about this Season, I really enjoyed A-Train’s redemption arc, and Antony Starr was amazing as Homelander this Season. One thing I didn’t expect was the downfall of Billy Butcher, most of this Season he’s been having his issues but he was still himself, but after the Season finale he’s like a completely different person now. Overall I really enjoyed The Boys Season 4, and I can’t wait to see Season 5! EPISODES RANKED: 1. Season Four Finale 2. Wisdom of the Ages 3. The Insider 4. Beware the Jabberwock, My Son 5.
