Rebecca Nicholson Financial Times The Buccaneers still has moments of appealing vim, but it leaves a sneaking suspicion that other shows are capable of doing what it does with much more assurance and wit.  Rated: 2/5 Jun 24, 2025 Full Review J. Kelly Nestruck Globe and Mail If you like Bridgerton -- and can stomach the goopiest of girl-power feminism -- you’ll likely like this almost as much. Jun 20, 2025 Full Review Leah Marilla Thomas AV Club The Buccaneers remains a fun and unpredictable watch—even when you’re tearing your hair out over these young, often flighty characters’ choices. Rated: B- Jun 13, 2025 Full Review Gissane Sophia Lady Geeks Media Season 2 begins with a strong and thoroughly compelling premiere that gorgeously sets the stage, but that’s unfortunately where its sophomore season charm ends. Jul 19, 2025 Full Review Clotilde Chinnici Loud and Clear Reviews Overall, Season 2 of The Buccaneers is a fitting continuation of its first season and successfully manages to explore the existing themes introduced in season 1, but also introduces new and exciting ones in order to keep the story feeling fresh and new. Rated: 3.5 Jun 25, 2025 Full Review Belen Prieto Espinof The key to 'The Buccaneers' is excess, betrayals, family secrets, and unexpected alliances, and none of this is lacking in its return...[Full review in Spanish] Rated: 4/5 Jun 24, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Harriet D Watching episode 6 of the second series has absolutely compelled me to write a review. Introducing Leighton Meester of all people as Nan’s biological mother was a stroke of genius; to see the continuing ups and downs of the girls bonds and stories, the steamy, the bad and the hilarious, has been the drama I didn’t know I needed (again); and having another cracking soundtrack has once again, hit deep - but the frustration and anger that’s had me on the very edge of my seat in episode six is an arc so beautifully written and directed. I did not see that coming!! I love how the storylines and issues raised are so current and, sometimes sadly relevant. I can’t wait to see how the series concludes, and pray to the TV gods there’s a third!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/28/25 Full Review Stephen C 8 successful Netflix episodes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Filmed on location throughout London, England, United Kingdom and subtitled in Netflix Studios in the United States of America!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/26/25 Full Review Marilyn W Season two was rather frustrating (spoiler alert) It seems the "true love" relationships have about a week expiration. As soon as they are out of sight-oh, I guess I love you instead. I got whiplash with all the changing affections. Other parts were okay - but what was with the "Risky Business" dance scene with Theo?! I felt awkward for him! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/26/25 Full Review Daniela F. Just cancel the show at this point 💀 Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/23/25 Full Review Josie M This show started out of decent interest and character development. However, season 2 quickly became disconnected from reality with unrealistic and cruel writing that, quite frankly, as a mother I have zero interest in watching any further. Nan’s character melted into a steaming pile of nonsense who treads air with her thoughtless decision making. Then they tore apart the one good match they had in the whole show to draw interest to an already ridiculous storyline about abuse that has so many holes in its development it makes you sick. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/23/25 Full Review Tina Z I'm not sure what they're doing with the second half of this season but it's all rather chaotic and random. I feel like they're just trying to throw anything with shock factor at the wall and see what sticks? The storytelling is pretty poor. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/23/25 Full Review Read all reviews
