What’s clear is that Hawke holds together The Lowdown and its yarn about Lee’s shambolic quest for the truth, where he’s frequently armed with only his ability to tell stories, one of which name-checks Fort Worth and gets him out of a jam.

Another great FX crime drama with extreme and eccentric characters and excellent actor performances. Would like to see this become a multi-season series like Fargo, but need to keep Ethan Hawke and his character at core. Hawke should win an Emmy for The Lowdown. Unlike some seasons of Fargo, the ending of The Lowdown was as strong as the earlier episodes.

Across the board perfection. Acting, writing, direction superb. Expecting this to win some awards. Never wanted it to end as characters so original. Loved it

It’s one of those shows some say is great but it feels like homework getting thru an episode. Has tremendous cast so will give it a shot..

First two episodes kind of drag, but by episode 3 and definitely 4 I was absolutely hooked. The start is a bit jumbled and disjointed, and the nature of the characters are a bit confusing but once they've been able to charm you, i feel you like you cant help but find yourself in love with them. Every actor really nails it and the plot is refreshing enough to keep me surprised at each turn. Really loved Peter Dinklage's one episode character. I personally like the indian country stories, i think they are very overlooked and provide a fresh perspective in the great quilt of America. Sterlin Harjo appears to be a really talented show creator, with the lovable, hilarious and bittersweet stories of Reservation Dogs also under his belt.
