This fast-paced and stunt-filled motor show tests whether cars, both mundane and extraordinary, live up to their manufacturers' claims; the long-running show travels to locations around the world, performing extreme stunts and challenges to see what the featured cars are capable of doing; celebrity guests appear on some episodes to help test the vehicles; things don't always go as planned, though, with broken bones and mechanical mishaps sometimes part of the experiments; Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May hosted the show for more than a decade before giving way to a new crew in 2016, including Chris Harris, Paddy McGuinness and Freddie Flintoff.

Anita Singh Daily Telegraph (UK) The show may lack the hint of danger it used to have - mostly what Clarkson might come out with - but this gentler, warmer Top Gear is no bad thing. Mar 2, 2020 Full Review Carol Midgley Times (UK) Not having dipped into Top Gear for a while, I can see it is chugging along perfectly well with [Andrew] Flintoff, Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris at the wheel, even though the banter and competitiveness can still feel contrived. Rated: 3/5 Feb 3, 2020 Full Review Ed Cumming Independent (UK) Putting these three pegs into those holes is awkward, although they are undoubtedly a better fit than their predecessors. nick k A boring slog. You learn little about cars, just watch some host go around in circles while telling bad jokes. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
