Whitney and Alex seek advice from their friends when they realize they are close to relationship boredom. Their group of friends includes romantic idealist Lily, recent divorcee Roxanne and advice-doling bartender R.J. A neighbor of Whitney and Alex is police officer Mark, a total bachelor who claims to be the ultimate player. It takes a few failed attempts to spice things up, but the couple eventually realize that -- although their relationship may not be conventional -- they are in love and doing what works for them.

Kirthana Ramisetti Bitch Media So far, the way a Whitney episode unfolds is to have her overreact to something trivial, only to see the error of her ways at episode's end. This is no way for the series to endear us to its protagonist. Jan 8, 2021 Full Review Erik Adams AV Club There are no sources of chaos on Whitney. The story is too calculated, moving from scene-to-scene, moment-to-moment in a way the show projects from minute one. Rated: D+ Mar 22, 2019 Full Review Troy Patterson Slate Watching Whitney is a bit like participating in a seance. It often seems that the traditional sitcom has died and you are communing with its angry ghost. Sep 30, 2011 Full Review Randy Dankievitch Processed Media I'm not sure whether Whitney is trying too hard, or not trying hard enough. Either way, the show doesn't work on any level. Feb 20, 2020 Full Review Jessica Johnson Time Out Chicago Whitney tries so hard to fill every second of its run-time with jokes that it never seems to stop and take note whether they're funny. Jul 2, 2018 Full Review Angel Cohn Television Without Pity Whitney is hands down the most dreadful new show of the fall. Sep 30, 2011 Full Review Read all reviews
