Bobby Berk

Born in Texas and raised in the middle of Amish country in Missouri, Bobby Berk didn't exactly grow up in a prosperous situation for a gay teen as he contended with homophobia of all shapes and sizes in his youth. It drove him to run away from home at age 15, bouncing around various jobs and predominantly living in his car. His perseverance somehow helped him tap into some sort of latent interior decoration talent that possessed him to move to New York City at the age of 22 with little money and prospects. Soon, he worked his way up the ladder at the home furnishing company Portico and then, when that ended, opened an online retail store called Bobby Berk Home in 2006. Physical locations started to open in major Eastern cities soon after. His store led to interior design jobs that in turn, led to Berk appearing across a variety of HGTV and Bravo television shows showcasing his decorative talents. When "Queer Eye" (Netflix 2018- ) returned, Berk joined the cast as the design expert, making use of his learned skills to a wider audience.
