Carl Stockdale
Carl Stockdale was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Early on in his acting career, Stockdale landed roles in various films, including the Lillian Gish historical drama "Intolerance" (1916), "The Americano" (1917) and "The Eyes of Julia Deep" (1918). He also appeared in "The Amazing Impostor" (1919), "Half Breed" (1922) and the drama "Oliver Twist" (1922) with Jackie Coogan. He continued to work steadily in film throughout the twenties and the thirties, appearing in the adaptation "The Love Parade" (1929) with Maurice Chevalier, "Hell's Island" (1930) and "Abraham Lincoln" (1930). He also appeared in the Lionel Atwill thriller "The Vampire Bat" (1933). In the latter half of his career, he continued to act in "The Law Commands" (1937), "Battle of Greed" (1937) and "Law For Tombstone" (1937). He also appeared in "Hawaiian Buckaroo" (1938) and "Rawhide" (1938). Stockdale last acted in the comedy "Scattergood Pulls the Strings" (1941) with Guy Kibbee. Stockdale passed away in March 1953 at the age of 79.
