Writer and producer Ed Zuckerman began his career with a writing credit on the popular show "Miami Vice" with Don Johnson in 1988 called "The Cows of October." In 1990, Zuckerman wrote an episode of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" called "A Matter of Perspective," and then worked as a writer on over 10 episodes of the television series "JAG" from 1999 to 2001. But Zuckerman's biggest credit was as a writer and producer on the long-running television crime drama "Law and Order," starring Jerry Orbach, Sam Waterston, S. Epatha Merkerson, and Jerry Hill, which ran for 20 years, from 1990 to 2010. In the first seasons, Zuckerman served as story editor and then executive story editor for the show, and he has a writing credit on over 50 of the show's many episodes, including "Blackmail," "Love Eternal," and "Boy on Fire." On later seasons of the show, Zuckerman was also a co-executive producer.
