Elvin Jones
Elvin Jones was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Jones marked his early career with roles in "Zachariah" (1970) with John Rubinstein and "Jazz in Exile" (1982). Later, Jones acted in "Newport Jazz '90" (PBS, 1990-91) and "A Salute to the Newport Jazz Festival" (PBS, 1993-94). Jones's music was most recently featured in the John Travolta smash hit suspenseful adaptation "The General's Daughter" (1999). Jones passed away in May 2004 at the age of 77.
