Jeff Greenstein is a six-time Emmy Award nominee whose first big break came as a writer and producer of the popular sitcom "Friends." Greenstein was there at the show's inception, and his comic genius helped shape the characters audiences would come to know and love as the quirky bunch who could most often be found at their favorite coffee shop, Central Perk, or in their absurdly large loft apartment (it was never really explained how people who seemed to never work could nevertheless afford such a grand living space in Manhattan). Greenstein's success continued with the sitcom "Will & Grace," a series about two best friends--one single straight woman and one single gay man, both equally unlucky in love. The show broke many barriers with its depiction of gay characters on television. And yet Greenstein still had so much more to offer. As a writer and producer of the satirical soap opera "Desperate Housewives," he ventured into the comedy gold mine of American suburbia, and the anything-but-quiet lives of its female inhabitants.
