John Bowab

Longtime television director John Bowab began his career with an episode of the spoof series "Soap" in 1979. That was the start of what would prove to be a long, illustrious career as a director of television series and made-for-TV movies. In the 1980s, he directed episodes for "Bosom Buddies," "I'm a Big Girl Now," and the HBO film "Groucho" starring comedy television icon Gabe Kaplan. In 1980 Bowab began directing episodes of the show "The Facts of Life." He directed more episodes of that series than any other in his career between 1980 and 1988. His directing career continued into the 1990s on sitcoms "Ann Jillian," "The Cosby Show," "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper," and "Grace Under Fire," never directing more than two dozen or so episodes for each series. He also served as director and producer of the sitcom "Bonnie" in 1995. Bowab's directorial work in television began to slow down in the early 2000s aside from a brief stint as director on "All About Us" and "My Wife and Kids." In 2008, he served as director for the made-for-TV movie "Little Miss CEO Pilot."
