John Lloyd Young
Before 2014, John Lloyd Young was known more for his work on stage than on the TV screen. The actor, born on July 4, 1975 in Sacramento, had a lot of varied interests growing up, and immersed himself in different cultures, spending time abroad in Venezuela after graduating high school. In 2002, he began his TV acting career like many New York City-based actors of his generation, with a small role on the crime procedural "Law and Order" (NBC 1990-2010). His breakthrough came in the theater world by winning the 2006 Tony for Best Leading Actor in A Musical for playing Frankie Valli in the Broadway musical "Jersey Boys." His musical background scored him better television work, including guest appearances on "Glee" (FOX 2009-15) and "Vegas" (CBS 2012-13), starring Dennis Quaid and Michael Chiklis. In 2012, he released his first album, My Turn. Young reprised his breakthrough role as Frankie Valli for the film version of "Jersey Boys" (2014), directed by Clint Eastwood. In 2013, President Barack Obama named John Lloyd Young to the President's Committee for the Arts And Humanities.
