Jonny Campbell was a director and producer from the United Kingdom. His first project was in 1996 when he directed the TV movie "Two Minutes," about 3 wannabe gangsters who attempt to rob a pub. In 1997, he directed a few episodes of the television series "Dream Team" (Sky1 1997-2007), about a fictional English soccer team. Between 1999 and 2000, Campbell directed five episodes of the serial drama "Peak Practice"(ITV 1993-2002). The show followed the goings on at a medical facility in a fictional small English town. Campbell continued his work for television, directing episodes for several other series, including "Glasgow Kiss" (BBC 2000), "Phoenix Nights" (BBC4 2001-02), and "Judge John Deed" (BBC 2001-07). In 2004 Campbell made the transition to American television and directed several episodes of the series "Shameless" (Showtime 2011- ), starring William H. Macy. In 2015, Campbell directed the HBO miniseries "The Casual Vacancy." The three-episode miniseries was based on a novel by J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series, and follows the goings on in the fictional town of Pagford, a charming English village with conflict and drama brewing behind its charming exterior. Critical reception was widely positive.
