Lucile Gleason
Lucille Gleason was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. Gleason's earliest roles were in film, including "The Shannons of Broadway" (1929), "Girls About Town" (1931) and "Pagan Lady" (1931). She also appeared in "Girl of the Rio" (1932), "Don't Bet on Love" (1933) and "A Successful Failure" (1934). Her film career continued throughout the thirties in productions like "Beloved" (1934), "Klondike Annie" (1936) with Mae West and the musical comedy "Rhythm on the Range" (1936) with Bing Crosby. She also appeared in the William Powell comedy "The Ex-Mrs. Bradford" (1936), "First Lady" (1937) and "Red Lights Ahead" (1937). Film continued to be her passion as she played roles in "Nurse From Brooklyn" (1938), "My Wife's Relatives" (1939) and "Should Husbands Work?" (1939). She also appeared in the mystery "The Gay Falcon" (1941) with George Sanders, "Take It Big" (1944) and the Roy Rogers western "Don't Fence Me In" (1945). Gleason more recently acted in "The Clock" (1945) with Judy Garland. Gleason passed away in May 1947 at the age of 59.
