Richard Raynis has worked as a producer of animated programs since 1987. He got his start with the humans-vs.-aliens sci-fi series "Starcom: The U.S. Space Force," for which he produced 13 episodes. The next two years, Raynis did producing duties on a pair of animated spin-offs of "ALF," the sitcom about a wisecracking extraterrestrial with a taste for felines: "Alf Tales" and "Alf: The Animated Series." From 1988 to 1989, Raynis produced over 40 episodes of the futuristic police toon "C.O.P.S." (not to be confused with the reality series). But into the early 1990s, Raynis moved into more highbrow animation with the cult show "The Critic," a hilarious satire on film critics, with a movie reviewer voiced by Jon Lovitz. In 1992, Raynis joined the team of the long running and beyond classic animated series "The Simpsons," for which he produced over 100 episodes. In the mid-90s, Raynis also did producing work for the series "Jumanji," based on the kid's movie about an enchanted board game.
