Rina Mimoun

Rina Mimoun is a television writer and producer whose work tends towards the youth end of the market. She began earning her bona fides on the WB comedy "Jack & Jill," where she wrote for nine episodes and was the executive story editor for all 32 of the show's two-season run. In '02, Mimoun was brought in to write and produce for the show that was something of a comeback for actor Treat Williams, the drama "Everwood," about a family that moves from Manhattan to small-town Colorado. By '04, Mimoun had risen to executive producer status, and her contributions were second only to those of Greg Berlanti, the show's creator. Her subsequent projects were more in line with her adolescent/young adult-oriented niche. She was a consulting producer on the WB/CW family comedy and cultural phenomenon "Gilmore Girls" from '06 to '07, and then co-executive produced for ABC's critical darling, "Pushing Daisies," which, alas, had its momentum cut short by the '07-08 writers' strike and survived only two seasons--but it earned Mimoun a Writer's Guild nomination for New Series in '08. She managed to keep her career thriving through the rest of the decade, writing and executive producing for the luxury-filled CW comedy "Privileged" in '08 and '09, and as a writer and producer for the short-lived ABC fantasy drama "Eastwick."
