Ella Taylor L.A. Weekly Unless you've thrown up your hands and butted out of all news of the Middle East debacle, nothing in this methodical, unimaginative documentary about the Arab-Israeli conflict will surprise, edify or, God forbid, outrage you. Aug 23, 2007 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times 'A small house can accommodate hundreds of friends, but can't accommodate two enemies,' the doctor says ruefully, quoting an Arab proverb. Sadly, Blood and Tears is the proof. Rated: 3.5/5 Jun 15, 2007 Full Review Charles Petersen Village Voice A well-balanced primer on the Arab-Israeli conflict, Blood and Tears takes just over an hour to go from the roots of Zionism to the recent electoral victory of Hamas. Jun 13, 2007 Full Review Ross Anthony Hollywood Report Card Though refreshingly reluctant to take sides regarding geography of the matter, the film has a subtle slant toward peace. Rated: 2.5/4 Sep 5, 2007 Full Review Brian Webster Apollo Guide As the film progresses, it becomes increasingly bold in taking sides, while all the time pretending to be unbiased. Rated: 65/100 Aug 31, 2007 Full Review Eric Monder Film Journal International Nothing more than a collection of sound bytes, most of them biased, many of them inflammatory, by a variety of speakers. It is hard to know what good this does. Aug 27, 2007 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member A good history lesson on the problems between the Palestinians and Israelis. Includes voices from both sides. I could have done without all the written information. Convinces me that, sadly, there does not seem to be any way to bring peace to the area. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member I liked this film because it provided a summary of the peace attempts over the last 20 years or so, and reminded me of the efforts successive Israeli governments have made. However it lacked depth and didn't expand my understanding of the issues. It was also boring to watch and had far too much writing that I couldn't keep up with. I thought the point about the war being perpetuated by the surrounding countries (with the exception of Jordan - though this was not mentioned) refusal to accept the so-called Palestinian refugees was a good one.
