Anthony Lane New Yorker This film is what would remain if you deleted all the spaceships from “Close Encounters of the Third Kind”: the tale of a once ordinary man beset by an unworldly thirst that he can neither explain nor quench. Mar 31, 2023 Full Review Courtney Howard Variety Though not without its flaws, this resonant, resourceful indie drama leaves a gentle imprint on audiences’ souls. Mar 30, 2023 Full Review Robert Daniels indieWire In this all too straight-forward drama, Church, an actor perfectly ripened for this role, gives one of the best performances of his career. Rated: C+ Jun 11, 2022 Full Review Tina Kakadelis Beyond the Cinerama Dome Acidman has no heroes or villains, despite having a name that sounds like an unknown Marvel character. Relationships are the battleground here. People are at their best and their worst when they’re fighting for the things they love. Jul 25, 2023 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse It’s an intimate two-hander that takes patience from the viewer, but pays off with a feeling of gentle authenticity. James C A film that manages to intentionally use so little and still do so much, often without having to say a word. The deep colors, low voices, and calm richness of the landscape all complement so well the grounded and profoundly human message. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/21/24 Full Review Marcel Y Boring buzzkill. Guns, dog dies in a gruesome way. Weak plot, great actors. Waste of time. They lost me with the bleeding dog. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/12/24 Full Review Sal D The performances bun Haden Church and Agrron really drive this film. Script could have been a bit more meaty but the relationship between the two characters is highly memorable. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/12/24 Full Review Matthew R Fair warning, although the movie is def worth a watch, its not sci-fi Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/29/24 Full Review Jammin J Finally, a thinking person's movie. This is by far Thomas Haden Church's finest performance. He brings his character alive, and for all his faults, you grow to love him as much as his daughter does. This movie says science fiction, but it really isn't - kinda. It's about a daughter finding her father. The what's and why's of their dialogue was simply brilliant, and you have to see it to understand it. The only part that needed cutting was the idiots throwing stuff and calling him names. Other than that, it's a masterpiece. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/29/23 Full Review Audience Member I thought this was a really feel good movie….heartfelt Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews
